SOLUTION:

  • Speedshield RFID and GPS Zoned Speed Control
  • Speedshield Reporting and Control Module

DETAILS:

The Speedshield Industrial Safety System was fitted to all forklifts and Taylor Dunn buggies at the Port Melbourne Plant to provide management with a total safety solution for the site. Speedshield provides zone based speed control based on combinations of vehicle and operator.

Speedshield uses GSM communications to record usage and performance data from each vehicle and send it to a central server. By accessing the server via a web browser, management can view the combination of Speedshield on–line reports to enable them to manage their industrial equipment. Reports provide information as follows: Vehicle

Operation including average speed, time at idle, time in gear and driver on duty information including total time in use and driver behaviour.

This Speedshield Control module provides management with the ability to centrally set/alter the active speed limits in any one of 40 plus different sections of the Engine Operations Plant. This gives Holden the invaluable ability to set a traffic management plan in place – and be assured that it is followed.

Additionally it allows maintenance staff via the web browser to alter parameters on the equipment such as idle RPM, as well as identify the location of any piece of mobile plant.
