Challenge:
Smorgon Steel needed to ensure that the staff vehicle was limited to traveling at 15 km/hr on-site and prevented from being driven off-site. Additionally, the vehicle needed to sound a warning alarm whenever it entered a dangerous part of the site.
Solution:
Speedshield Technologies GPS Zoned Speed Control (featuring speed limiting for two maximum speeds) solution was installed on the vehicle, which allowed its speed to be limited and controlled on-site. This product was also installed to control the speeds of their Front-End Loaders and 16tonne Forklifts.
Results:
By implementing speed controls on the staff vehicles, Smorgon Steel prevented staff vehicles and heavy equipment from traveling at unsafe speeds, protecting workers from possible collisions and injury.
